I’ve had such a fantastic year I almost feel guilty about making a big deal over my latest lifer. I’ve been turning rocks and rolling logs for about four years in Missouri looking for a Four-toed Salamander but I guess I just wasn’t looking in the right places. As it turns out there’s apparently a population of these little gems in one of my favorite hiking areas in St Genevieve County. I think of all the times I’ve hiked this area in the last four years without paying much attention to finding salamanders!
