Buck Mountain Milk Snakes

Near my home in St. Francois County, Missouri there is a small mountain sitting on the edge of the ancient St. Francois Mountains.  This area holds a good population of red milk snakes.  I try and hike up this mountain at least once every spring to turn rocks on its glade rich south and southwestern slopes. This spring I was in good company with Ryan Thies.

Quite a few milk snakes were found throughout the day but, only a few were photographed.

The last milk of the day was the nicest looking but unfortunately it was getting too dark to make any good photos of it
